The Demon Haunted World, by Carl Sagan

Brilliance Publishing acquired a handful of works by famed scientist and author Carl Sagan. We had the privilege to work with his wife, Ann Druyan, to create new covers for the audio editions. These are two of the concepts I presented for the book The Demon Haunted World. The cut letters at first appear confusing to the eye, but once light is shone the letterforms make sense. “Science is an attempt, largely successful, to understand the world, to get a grip on things, to get hold of ourselves, to steer a safe course.” I wanted to showcase how when we illuminate our world with science the things we don’t understand are explained clearly.
